About our Maidstone academy

Since opening our academy in Maidstone, we’ve welcomed lots of new apprentices to the world of Saks Apprenticeships!

The quality of training at the academy is of the highest standard, and we believe this is why salons around Kent choose to send their apprentices to us. 

We have a dedicated team of experienced educators to oversee and support the apprentices through their training programme. With the most up-to-date knowledge and skills, we are able to ensure that apprentices achieve their dreams.

Saks' signature education

Our apprentices are coached on how to present themselves and behave in a professional manner, in-turn giving them the added skill of being able to grow and maintain a good client base though excellent customer service. By gaining the combined skills of the apprenticeship in Hairdressing with the excellent customer care skills, we believe that apprentices will have the best start in the industry when training with Saks.

Apprentices attend Saks Academy in Maidstone once a week and work in their salon for the rest of the week. Academy sessions include both practical and theory sessions throughout the day, and apprentices carry out services on live models whilst training to ensure the best possible experience. All apprentices have access to excellent resources to use to support them in their chosen course, including an ICT suite and separate functional skills sessions.

Our Age UK partnership

We want to help Age UK make the UK a peaceful and safe place to live and grow old, and to play a key role in tackling the loneliness and isolation in and around Maidstone. We provide support to individuals in need of some extra company by offering complimentary hairdressing services, tea, coffee and a friendly chat. Our apprentices are continuously developing their customer service and communication skills and enjoy every opportunity working with clients from all walks of life.
