Here at Saks Education we LOVE celebrating apprentices (both past and present) achievements and Jamie Mettyear is no exception.

The incredibly talented former Saks Apprentice now runs his own highly successful salon, with a fantastic team, including his very own Saks Apprentices!
Jamie’s salon, Sanctuary Day Spa and Salon offers top quality hair and beauty services, using professional products, in a simply stunning converted church, bringing a little bit of luxury to Herne Bay, Kent.
We caught up with Jamie to see how times have changed since he completed his apprenticeship with Saks, he said : “Having always been very competitive and knowing what I wanted from a young age I was not going to stop until my dreams became a reality. This was only possible with lots of hard work and effort I put into my training. I was very fortunate to have such great training providers around me and great stylist’s for support to help nurture me into the stylist and business owner I am now.
“10 years sounds like a long time from when I first started, but I remember my first day in the salon
like it was yesterday. It goes by like a flash and would have not changed anything about it, so to all apprentices out there, make the most of it!
“Training is such an important and vital part of any stylists development whether they are just starting out as an apprentice or years down the line, which is why here at Sanctuary we aim  to deliver the best possible training with Saks Education and maximum support from all the staff to deliver the professional standard that is expected of a Salon & Day Spa.”

Jamie you’re an inspiration to all of our Saks Apprentices, and we can’t wait to see you and your salon go from strength to strength! Well done from everyone at Saks Education! X”
